I became lazy from practicing qigong daily after my major health problem resolved after practicing qigong daily for 2+ years. Then it went down to 3 – 4 times a week then to weekend hikes on the trail near my place. The entire trail is about 3.5 miles and consisted of different type of forests that offers amazing qi, and a circle of Redwoods for more extensive practice. So I convinced myself that twice a week on the trail was better than doing it everyday in my garden. Winter comes, and trail gets muddy and I don’t go on weekend hikes. This repeated lasted couple of years. In between those stop-and-go times, I would go back to daily practice and self healing when I get hurt or start seeing darker circle under my eyes or feeling blocked qi in my body. Then I would slack off again once I was better.

Then another reminder came. I fell in the garden pretty badly as I was getting ready for Christmas dinner form my family, and got bruised on both legs, a deep cut on my leg and a cut on my lips. I applied qi immediately after the fall as I felt my lip swelling up, and I literally felt the swelling going down on my lips as I was practicing qigong. My legs never got bruised although the areas that could have been black and blue stayed visible. I continued with my daily qigong but I ended up skipping two days over the holidays. The cut on my leg felt hot, red and swelled. I went back to daily qigong. I am happy to report that the cut is healing just fine.

I am grateful for this powerful reminder not to neglect the practice of qigong, and grateful to Master Zhao for sharing and teaching us his amazing gift.

Our Class of 2010 is about to get together for the second group practice and I am looking forward to it very much. The first session was not only a great opportunity to practice healing but it was especially helpful to receive verbal feedbacks of giving and receiving. Thank you Dashi and Shimu for your generosity of offering us the office for our practice, and my classmates for organizing and making it happen.
